Olga de Kort-Koulikova (Dongen) began with her piano lessons at the age of six. She could never choose between playing the piano and writing about music, so she studied both piano and culture sciences in Russia and journalism in France. Until her move to the Netherlands in 1998, she combined her work as piano accompanist with writing about music and working as culture, art en music journalist in Moscow, Paris and Prague.
In the Netherlands she extended her studies with music history and music science at Utrecht University, organ studies at the HKU (Utrecht conservatory) and choir conducting application studies for professional musicians. She is freelance musician and journalist, and owner of music bureau {aKKOlade (journalism, concerts, concert introductions, courses, lectures, piano lessons).
Olga de Kort-Koulikova (Dongen) werd geboren in Istra, regio Moskou. Na haar studies piano en cultuurwetenschappen in Rusland volgde ze een journalistieke opleiding in Frankrijk, en werkte ze voor Radio France International in Parijs en Radio Liberty/Free Europe in Praag. Sinds 1998 woont ze in Nederland. In Nederland studeerde ze orgel aan het conservatorium in Utrecht (HKU), muziekwetenschap aan de Universiteit Utrecht en koordirectie (applicatie opleiding voor vakmusici). Olga de Kort is eigenaar van het muziekbureau {aKKOlade en werkt als freelance musicus en muziekjournalist.
